In addition to the promotion, SV Werder Bremen can also look forward to a considerable amount of additional transfer payments. While Werder had to pay around 500,000 euros for Marvin Ducksch, the class is now ringing in a positive sense.
SV Werder Bremen had to part with some important players after being relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga. However, the north Germans had not yet received the full fee for all transferred players. BILDAccording to information, Bremen can still look forward to additional payments for Maximilian Eggestein (Freiburg), Kevin Möhwald (Union Berlin), Ludwig Augustinsson (FC Sevilla) and Davy Klaassen (Ajax Amsterdam).
Frank Baumann confirmed this to the BILD: “We still received a nice amount of additional transfer payments. Together with the loaned players, who will still be sold one or the other, we can cover most of the transfer proceeds that we have set ourselves as a goal,” according to the Werder managing director.
The additional payments should total 3.5 million euros, which is a decent number for a club like Werder. Due to the blessing of millions, the Bremen team does not have to part with any top performers from an economic point of view.
Apparently, the club can even rely on further income.
“We can still earn some additional payments in the next few years,” Baumann clarified. Further income would be possible, for example, if Josh Sargent and Milot Rashica are transferred. The duo were eventually relegated from the Premier League with Norwich City.
So things don’t look too bad for Werder, who recently landed a surprising transfer coup with Amos Pieper. The former Bielefeld and U21 European champion will strengthen Bremen’s central defense.
