ROME, MAY 21 – Turkish riot police broke into Istanbul’s Bogazici University during LGBTQ Pride, arresting dozens of students. This was announced by the BBC report in Turkish. According to student lawyer Mahmut # 350; eren, at least 33 arrests were made and some teachers were injured in an attempt to prevent the stops. The lawyer also stated that on the parade, now in its ninth edition, there had been no ban by the governor’s office or by the rector. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has banned LGBTQ pride parades since 2015. (ANSA).
