One hundred and twenty thousand wild fans are preparing to invade the Trentino Music Arena. One hundred and twenty thousand people, as many as there are who reside in Trento, have been flocking to the city nestled in the Dolomites for days, where Vasco’s songs echo everywhere. The mayor, Franco Ianeselli, explains to Ruetir how the city has prepared itself for an event considered by some to be disproportionate to its size and its real possibilities. “Citizens initially welcomed the event with disbelief – he says – some wondered if we would be able to double the inhabitants of the city with a concert and those who said we would never make it. On the other hand, it is a bit from Trentino. leaving or a suspicious attitude. The necessary work has been done and now, as it should be a few hours after the event, I believe that the whole city must collaborate and work to make it successful “. This is confirmed by the 15 technical discussions started in January to define the meticulous organization of the concert.
“There is a work that has been going on for months for the organization – continues the mayor – from the parking floor for the inflow to the whole area identified for the outflow that we hope will be gradual and slow. This event is led by the Civil Protection of Trentino in collaboration with the Police Headquarters, everyone works for their own sphere of competence. I am thinking of what the Municipal Police of the Municipality does for traffic management. As in any self-respecting safety plan, all possible adverse events have been considered: let’s hope they don’t happen, but everything is ready even with respect to extreme events. You could have been more or less convinced about the good idea of doing the concert, but since everyone is there it works in the same direction “. But where will the Mayor see the concert? “Tonight I will be at the Helicopters Nucleus – he says – where the Civil Protection headquarters is, the songs will resound from there too, but my role is to give my contribution so that everything happens in the best possible way”.
Vasco, he, has already seen it. “I met him a couple of days ago – he confirms with a smile – it was a very pleasant meeting: in short, you meet a sort of living myth, and instead it was a very nice interview”.
