At the moment Richard Carapaz is driving around in the Giro d’Italia. The Ecuadorian became Olympic Champion in Tokyo last year, but that is a title that does not involve a jersey as we are used to in the cycling world. As an Olympic champion you can recognize him by the golden details on the sleeves of his shirt and on his helmet.

Black Dogma F with golden details
In the first part of this season he was already riding a completely golden bike. On the first rest day of the Giro, the Italians managed to surprise Carapaz with a less striking, but no less beautiful new Dogma F. Tastes differ, but I personally think this black and gold Dogma is a lot nicer.
The bike is otherwise the same as Team Ineos’ Pinarello Dogma F, who have also switched to disc brakes since this season. It is built with a new Shimano Dura Ace Di2 12-speed groupset, although Carapaz still rides with a crankset from the 9100 series. The other parts are from Most, Pinarello’s own brand. I wonder if it will give Carapaz an extra boost in his attempt to win the Giro.
