Pocket Crystal League is a free card game made by fans and it was launched today on Itch.io, if you are a fan of Pokémon and those of card games, take advantage of downloading it before the lawyers from Nintendo and Game Freak arrive.
The game was created by Reddit user u/moodytail, who shared it today, May 19, on r/pokemon, the subreddit for the franchise. Its creator considers it a “pretty simple and easy to learn” card game, adding that it is “completely different from the official collectible card game”. So it is not important to have previously played the official Pokémon card game.
“PCL (Pocket Crystal League) is a Pokémon card game, although it is completely different from the Trading Card Game. The mechanics of the game are partially inspired by Inscryption, being quite simple and easy to learn”, describes u/ moodytail to your game on your download page.
“After choosing a starter deck, the goal is to travel challenging each of the gym leaders from the eight main cities in the game, building a team to reach the ultimate goal, the Crystal League. The current version of the game includes all Pokémon from the first two generations, and its creator sees the possibility of expanding the game with more content and generations in the future, but currently has no plans to do so.
