Saints Row will return with a brand new reboot adapted to today’s games.
Koch Media has allowed us to enjoy a new exclusive Saints Row trailer, the brand new reboot for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One and PC (exclusively on the Epic Games Store) that Voltion is preparing to capture new players along with veterans who want to enjoy an open world full of possibilities without lose the touches of humor that characterize the saga. The first impressions of the title are showing that the reboot of the saga could become one of the best games, so seeing more of the game has been very interesting for us.
For context, Saints Row will offer a new open-world action-adventure called Saint Unharmed, a fictional city inspired by the American Southwest that will represent the largest and most diverse setting in the series’ history. The story of the game will be completely original, narrating the beginnings of the Saints. To do this, the player will embody the boss or the boss of a gang.
Personalization from the start
The extensive customization of Saints Row is palpable from its inception. The player can choose the appearance of his character by modifying endless aspects, not forgetting that throughout his adventure he will be able to stop at stores to customize his appearance. In fact, it should be remembered that the developer specified that the reboot will be the open world game with the most advanced customization in history. In fact, in this new preview we have also been able to see the vehicle workshop that will allow us to modify them, remembering that in addition to cars we will also be able to pilot helicopters and hoverboards, to give examples.
Likewise, we have been able to see a new Saints Row mission in which players can enjoy high-quality cinematics that give way to moments full of action, either with chases or with shooting confrontations in which we benefit from a HUB full of weapons (pistols, revolvers, rocket launchers…) amazing. In fact, we could see how a stand-up confrontation can turn into a chase in which we can drive as well as shoot. Sometimes there will be sequences in between with well-kept dialogue.

One of the merits that Voltion seems to have achieved with the reboot of Saints Row is unite the characteristic humor of the saga with the most realistic aspect of today’s video games. Work has also been done on this versatility of situations, since moments of stealth have been added to the moments of action through missions in which you have to rescue a partner without being seen or place a bomb. For any type of situation it seems that we will use a striking mechanic: high jumps gliding with a contraption recently seen in Horizon Forbidden West.
Play alone or in company
The game mode that we want to play in Saints Row will depend entirely on the player, who can bet on living a classic individual adventure or discover the Saints Unharmed of other players through the game’s online mode. The title will have a mechanic in which the territories of the gangs can be conquered, although this will only be the beginning of the customization of our city, to which we can add criminal businesses. It should be noted that you can also enjoy history through the intergenerational cooperative (PS4 players with PS5 players and Xbox One players with Xbox Series players). Of course, playing together, something that can be done throughout the story, seems much more fun.
Of course, Saints Row will continue to be a game full of action, whether in combats, chases, smuggling missions… However, for a quiet moment we can take the main character’s mobile phone, which has a wide repertoire of apps (menus), in which we can see even the game map.
It will be necessary to see if all those shots end up being accurate, if it feels very different to take any type of vehicle and even what it is like to fly over the city through a helicopter. Of course, we are before a most promising title that we will have to play with our hands to get out of doubt. Graphically it also looks interesting considering that it is an intergenerational game, but what is certain is that Saints Row returns to conquer new and familiar players through a proposal adapted to today.
Will the reboot of Saints Row be the best game in the series? You can get it. But to find out we will have to wait until the August 23rddate in which humor and action will come together in a promising open world game that already promises to have DLC after its launch.
