After the dismissal of Sebastian Hoeneß on Tuesday, a favorite for the successor already emerged on Wednesday: Markus Weinzierl is to take over as head coach at TSG.
As the Bild Weinzierl, who recently retired from FC Augsburg, is currently the top favorite to succeed Hoeneß in Hoffenheim. The fact that TSG is looking for an experienced Bundesliga coach speaks for Weinzierl.
And after the inglorious exit in Augsburg, the 47-year-old should be keen to take over a direct Bundesliga competitor of FCA and work as a coach in calmer waters.
The conditions at TSG would be excellent for Weinzierl: he could develop young players at an ambitious, professionally run club and play European football in the medium term. However, there is still no clear trend at Weinzierl.
