Cambuur goalkeeper Pieter Bos immediately puts an end to his career. The 25-year-old Bos struggles with heart problems. At the express request of medical specialists, the goalkeeper is therefore forced to end his career, Cambuur reports on the club website.
The heart problems make it irresponsible to continue playing. “This is mainly a personal drama for Pieter himself,” says technical manager Foeke Booy. “Receiving such news as a top athlete and at such a young age is simply terrible and it goes without saying that as a club and team we will support him wherever we can.”
Bos came to Cambuur in the summer of 2016 and made his debut in the Eredivisie in March, when he replaced the injured Sonny Stevens. Cambuur finished in ninth place in the Eredivisie this season.
