It is understood that any adaptation of a video game to film or television must work as a film and, where appropriate, as a series. This implies that the work can be very close or far from what we know of a franchise in gaming, giving rise to controversy and division of opinions. Hitting the nail on the head is very difficult in these cases and the series of Halo in Paramount + it is not the exception, even to the extent that one of its creators does not understand what is happening.
The series of Halo seems to be a long way from the video game franchise
The series of Halo of Paramount + started with expectation and although it has been a success according to the numbers of the streaming platform, it is currently in the middle of a crossroads on the part of the fans, with some of them considering that the production has taken a path quite far of what the iconic Xbox franchise is. How far does this go? Well recently Marcus Lehto, co-creator of Halo(via Pure Xbox) responded to some critical tweets about the series and in one of them he mentioned: “I’m not sure where the inspiration for the show came from. That’s not the Halo what did I do”.
Yeah, I’m not sure where the inspiration for the show comes from now. Not the Halo I made.

Subsequently, Marcus Lehto specified that his comment is not detrimental to the series of Halo of Paramount +, but rather expresses the ignorance of what is presented in it because it is different from what he did as a creative in charge of the franchise as a video game.

It should be remembered that prior to the premiere of the series of Halo, the production team revealed that they did not look at the franchise video games at all and the knowledge they had about their universe was obtained through briefings held at the 343 Industries offices, making it clear that their goal would not be to replicate the video games on TV. Along with this, the producers pointed out that this series of Halo takes place in another universe, so it’s not canon or related to the Bungie and 343i video games.
What’s your opinion about it? What is your opinion about the series? Halo Until now?
