Josip Brekalo was loaned to FC Turin from VfL Wolfsburg this season. However, the Serie A club will not exercise the option to buy the Croatian. He probably has no future in Wolfsburg either.
Josip Brekalo can be classified somewhere between genius and idleness in his meanwhile not so young career. At times, this also applied to his time in Turin: sometimes the 23-year-old showed his skills, sometimes he completely disappeared. In 31 Serie A games, Brekalo scored seven goals and provided two assists.
Overall, Brekalo was able to meet the expectations placed on him. The club also wanted to take the option to buy the Croatian, Brekalo loudly announced who was responsible kicker but with the fact that he sees his future elsewhere. Torino will therefore let the option of 10.5 million euros expire.
Bitter for VfL, who no longer plans with Brekalo. The Croatian does not see his future in Wolfsburg either, as the specialist magazine reports. Wolfsburg will try to find a buyer for Brekalo as soon as possible, whose contract with the Autostadt runs until 2023. The Croatian’s goal is said to be LaLiga.
