Quartararo’s maneuver in FP3 surprised many: “Better Marquez than Ducati”
Yamaha centaur Fabio Quartararo, fourth after qualifying for the French GP, surprised many during free third at Le Mans, when he helped Marc Marquez gain access to Q2 by offering him the slipstream twice.
The world champion explained the reasons for his gesture after qualifying: “My plan was to do the best possible lap, and when I saw Marc behind me, I thought he was not at 100%. In the end I think I have behind him is better than having a Ducati, probably with the other riders I would not have done the same “, are the words reported by GpOne.
Quartararo has definitely the best pace of the whole lot: “I’m not afraid of a race to chase like Jerez, there aren’t many points to overtake but I’ll have my chances”.
