This season the 19-year-old has made 39 appearances for Sao Paulo and has scored four goals, plus three assists. His brilliant performance also made Marquinhos included in the Brazil U-17 national team squad.

Arsenal can be said to be quite lucky because they succeeded in signing future Brazilian stars for a very cheap price. Still from the same source, London Meriam deposited just 3.5 million euros to get the player.
The signing of Marquinhos to Arsenal is considered to be inspired by their success in bringing in Gabriel Martinelli in 2019. At that time, Arsenal recruited Martinelli from Ituano for a fee of £6 million, and it could be said that Martinelli had succeeded in becoming an important part of Arsenal’s first team under Mikel Arteta.
