Argentina have announced their squad for the finals against Italy, including Dutch club Feyenoord defender Marcos Seneca. Despite Italy’s efforts to include a player who could play for Argentina and Italy, Lionel Scolari has announced that he has taken the player a step further.
Born in Argentina, Seneca also has an Italian passport, allowing him to play for both teams. The squad announced the inclusion of Scolari’s player amid Italian coach Mancini’s efforts for a player who has never played for a national team. Seneca is also reportedly interested in playing for Argentina.

Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Romero is also in the squad but is unlikely to play against Italy due to injury. Seneca is likely to get a chance to go on the defensive with Ottamendi instead. He is currently preparing for the UEFA Conference League final against Rome with Feyenoord.
