THE Maneskin, global rock phenomenon, are back today with the new single ‘Supermodel’, written in Los Angeles and produced by acclaimed producer Max Martin (The Weeknd, Coldplay, Lady Gaga) and his team. The band also just hit 1 billion streams for their hit ‘Beggin’. ‘Supermodel’, with a typically Californian sound and a contagious modern rock groove, is the new, extraordinary proof of maturation by a band in unstoppable evolution, which continues from time to time to define its own inimitable rock’n’roll identity. The Maneskin developed the concept of the song inspired by a series of characters they met while living in Los Angeles.
” We wrote Supermodel – explains the band – after spending some wonderful months in Los Angeles. At times it has surprised us – and intrigued at the same time – that people care so much about cultivating their status, being a celebrity, and are totally obsessed with appearances, with connections. We started imagining an enigmatic ‘Supermodel’ character: a fantastic, bright and very social girl who is actually full of problems and hides sadness and addiction.. You kind of love her, because she gives you the idea that you know how to have fun, but at the same time you avoid her, because you know she could get you into trouble. ”
The Maneskins will present the new single live during the Eurovision Song Contest final in Turin on May 14th, exactly one year after the triumphal victory that catapulted them to no. 1 of the charts around the world. The band will kick off their ‘Loud kids tour’ world tour on October 31st from the sold out Seattle date, and will travel to other Sold Out cities such as New York, San Francisco, Atlanta and Washington. A new date in Los Angeles has also been added.
The Maneskins they will then leave for the European tour, with already several Sold Out dates, in 2023, during which they will perform in iconic locations such as London’s O2 Arena, Accor Arena in Paris and the Mercedes Benz Arena in Berlin. Summer 2022 will see them protagonists of a tour of the most prestigious world festivals such as the ‘Rock Am Ring & Rock Im Park’, ‘Reading & Leeds Festival’, ‘Lollapalooza’ (in Stockholm, Paris and finally Chicago), Rock Werchter, also passing through Rock in Rio in Brazil and many others. They will stop in Italy again for two dates scheduled for Thursday 23 June at the Stadio Comunale G. Teghil in Lignano Sabbiadoro and Saturday 9 July at the Circus Maximus in Rome (Sold Out).
