Bavaria’s Alphonso Davies has gone hip-hop. The left-back has released his first single.
Davies has shown in the past that his talent extends far beyond the football field. The Canadian repeatedly drew attention to himself with various pictures and videos on social networks. For example, the 21-year-old runs his own football club with his girlfriend Jordyn Huitema, who is also a professional footballer and has a contract with Paris Saint-Germain YouTube-Channel.
Now Davies, who describes Canadian rapper Drake as a great idol, has discovered the world of music and released his first hip-hop single. Together with Alexis Fambo and Stephan Mensah, the Bayern star forms the rap group “STUGANG”. Like Davies, Fambo (SV Heimstetten) and Mensah (TSV 1860 Rosenheim) are active footballers and currently play in the Regionalliga Bayern. The two have already released two singles without Davies.
The first song the trio recorded is titled “Nur Weil”. The text consists of German and English passages, and Davies himself also takes on a solo rap part. In terms of content, the three hip-hoppers are dedicated to the topics of women, sex and friendship. The music video is on YouTube already over 100,000 clicks. Whether more tracks are planned in the future and whether Davies will remain a permanent member of “STUGANG” is not certain.
