ROME, MAY 12 – “We are the nation of the best defenders,” said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in his video-recorded message at the Atlantic Council evening, which sees the head of the Italian government Mario Draghi among the winners. “Behind the courage and wisdom of our people there are thousands of true stories”, he underlined in his traditional military green t-shirt speaking in Ukrainian (subtitled), before praising the Ukrainian heroes “who died to defend Europe too” . For him applause and standing ovations at the Atlantic Council evening in Washington, where he sent a videotaped message on the occasion of the awarding of Prime Minister Mario Draghi for his political leadership, together with Eni’s CEO Claudio Descalzi, for his entrepreneurial leadership.
