Manchester City are moving quickly to increase their strength for the 2022/23 season and beyond. The club based at the Etihad Stadium announced the recruitment of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund. Haaland was brought in for a transfer value of 51 million Pounds.
The Norwegian football star is expected to increase Man City’s pounding power. The team has often been criticized for lacking in this aspect, especially after Sergio Aguero left at the end of the 2020/21 season. This criticism is maintained even though in the Premier League, City scored 94 goals from 36 matches.
Man City manager, Pep Guardiola, gave a positive response to Erling Haaland. Guardiola says Haaland can increase his team’s productivity. But the manager still insists that the most important thing is the contribution of each player as a whole to achieve victory.
Manchester City can confirm that we have reached an agreement in principle with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of striker Erling Haaland to the Club on 1st July 2022.
The transfer remains subject to the Club finalising terms with the player.

“Sure, Haaland can help us score more goals. His arrival is not only related to that factor. In the end the most important thing is to win. I don’t just rely on centre-backs in defence, neither do the attackers up front.”
“Haaland has scored a lot of goals throughout his career and we want to help him improve his overall game, including creating lots of chances. We will not give him the sole responsibility of scoring goals,” said Pep Guardiola.
The arrival of Haaland is said to be able to open the door for Gabriel Jesus. The Brazilian is a target for Arsenal, who are looking to strengthen their forward line which Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are likely to leave at the end of this season.
