The 19-year-old suffered a ligament injury in the most recent game against VfL Wolfsburg and will even be out until the preparations for the coming season. “Jan will be out for between eight and ten weeks and will only be 100 percent there for the first DFB Cup game of the new season,” confirmed Effzeh coach Steffen Baumgart Bild. “It’s very unfortunate for such a young player. Especially because it wasn’t obvious in the game that it would be such a serious injury.”
Thielmann had been in good form recently and collected three of his six points in the past few games. U21 national coach Antonio Di Salvo also wanted the Cologne player Bild invite you to the next course – nothing will come of it now.
“You don’t want any player to go on vacation injured. That’s the hardest thing you can have. That’s very annoying for Jan,” regretted Baumgart, who had always used Thielmann this season when he was available .
