Those of Redemond seem to have news for more than one event.
While most companies are committed to measuring times and showing news of their games when they deem it appropriate, Microsoft is still one of the few companies that maintains the traditional dates of events like E3, although this year there will not be E3 as such, or Gamescom. The Xbox Bethesda summer event already has a date, but it seems that they will also have news to share in August during Gamescom 2022.
Although at the moment nothing has been officially confirmed by those of Redmnond, the journalist Jez Corden assured in the last program of the Xbox Two podcast that he had heard that Xbox “could” also be at Gamescom 2022 and have “some kind of presence”. It is not clear if with that “presence” he refers to a new event or simply to bring his games to the fair so that people can enjoy them, because this year Gamescom maintains a hybrid profile between digital and limited attendance.
Gamescom 2022 will take place from August 24 to 28, but before finally knowing whether or not Microsoft will participate in the German fair, we will have to see the Xbox and Bethesda event next June. According to the latest rumors, almost all Xbox studios would have something to show, so if we add Bethesda and its news, it is possible that something can be saved for a couple of months until Gamescom.
Upcoming Xbox Projects
We still don’t know what exactly Xbox and Bethesda will announce at the June event or at Gamescom, but Project Belfry aims to be one of the great protagonists. It would be the new game from Stoic Studio, creators of The Banner Saga, it is said that it would be a side-scrolling RPG with a visual style similar to Princess Mononoke. It is not the only Xbox project that we have been learning about in recent months, we could add Project Cobalt, the new InXile Entertainment, or Project Shaolin, which would be a third-person action game set in a fantasy world.
