On the Romagna track, the Milanese manufacturer let Alpine, Cavallino, AlpaTauri and Alfa Romeo test next season’s tires
The double day of testing organized by Pirelli ended yesterday in Imola. The Milanese manufacturer, which supplies tires to the F1 teams, has started developing 18-inch tires for the 2023 season and on the Santerno track, where the Emilia Romagna GP was staged on Sunday, on the first day alternating the single-seaters of Esteban Ocon with the Alpine, the Alfa Romeo of the Chinese Guanyu Zhou and the AlphaTauri of Pierre Gasly. Ocon is the one who completed the most laps (122), followed by Gasly (121) and Zhou (120).
the second day
The second day was staged yesterday and Alpine gave way to Ferrari, who alternated Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. Alfa Romeo rode with Robert Kubica and AlphaTauri with Yuki Tsunoda. The session was important because Pirelli was able to take advantage of this year’s single-seaters to collect useful data for the development of the new tires. Tsunoda completed 53 laps, Ferrari put together 51 and Kubica 19.
