The rare shark, called the “Hedip”, was pulled from a depth of more than 2,000 meters under the water’s surface.

The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere said, in a statement, that this shark has a long and slender body, and it has a head similar to a snake.
The researcher at the Portuguese University of Algarve, Margarida Castro, said that the hummingbird shark is characterized by its many teeth, which number up to 300, and uses them to suddenly pounce on prey.
Scientists do not know much about the numbers of this shark, because it lives at a deep level under the sea, where words of darkness and pressure intensify, with a very low temperature.
The International Union for Conservation of Nature lists the fringe shark as one of the “least of concern” species, but warns of the increase in commercial fishing in deep waters, which increases the risk of ships withdrawing the species by mistake.
