The Paulista Football Federation sent a letter to the CBF earlier this afternoon (29) asking for a position from the entity in relation to the cases of racism witnessed in Libertadores. Shortly after, President Ednaldo Rodrigues spoke in a video on the organization’s official website.
The president of the FPF, Reinaldo Carneiro Bastos, represented Corinthians, Palmeiras and Red Bull Bragantino when demanding that the CBF go to Conmebol asking for a position against these acts. As I had already shown the blogthe collusion of the South American entity had irritated the clubs, not only those from São Paulo, but also Flamengo and Fortaleza, which also witnessed incidents of racism in their matches.
Still this afternoon, Conmebol released another note promising to toughen punishments against racism, changing the regulation of its competitions. The entity investigates recent cases and said it will comment soon.
Today, on Live by Danilo and Vitão, the Corinthians fan who denounced the racist acts of a Boca Juniors supporter gave an interview that you can watch above.
