The fire brigade intervened
La Spezia – Black smoke, which came from the basement of Piazza Enzo Fregosi, in Migliarina, has invaded the roadway of viale Italia, ending up paralyzing the traffic at that stretch of road, which is very busy throughout the day. The fire, which broke out in one of the deposits below the square, sparked the concern of the residents who, alerted, immediately requested the intervention of the fire fighters.
“I was the one who called the firefighters – says a resident of Viale Italia – I looked out from the terrace and saw the very dense black smoke, so I thought about calling for help, even before I understood what had happened”. After a few minutes, the firefighters arrived.
The flames were extinguished in a short time, even if the strong heat released has conspicuously damaged the ceiling of the structure, which at the moment remains uninhabitable: “The causes of the fire are still unclear. – say the firefighters – It caught fire, in correspondence of an underground garage, a pallet of paper handkerchiefs. It was probably the warehouse material of some commercial activity in the area “.
