THEThe Council of Ministers is expected to approve the aid package on Monday which includes, among other things, the extension of the cut in excise duties. The reduction in fuel prices is expected to be extended until 30 June. and the price of methane is also expected to drop by 30 cents.
Inside the maxidecree there will also be the energy package that if on the one hand points to simplification on renewables on the other hand also opens up to coal-fired power plants. In fact, the bureaucracy to start wind and photovoltaic plants will be streamlined and at the same time on the coal front it could bring four power plants back to full capacity (for a fixed period).
The Russian crisis requires measures to compensate for Moscow gas and at the same time to mitigate the expensive bills. This inevitably risks slowing down decarbonisation.
