ROME, APRIL 27 – Lady Gaga announces her new single, “Hold My Hand”, taken from the soundtrack of the new, highly anticipated film “Top Gun: Maverick”, premiered on May 21 and 22 in all Italian cinemas that will participate in the initiative and in all theaters from May 25, distributed by Eagle Pictures. Already available for pre-save (http://LadyGaga.lnk.to/HoldMyHandPresave), produced by Lady Gaga and BloodPop © with the help of Benjamin Rice, the song will be released worldwide on Tuesday May 3rd via Interscope Records: it was written for the film and can also be heard within the film. The ‘theatrical’ version of “Hold My Hand” contains additional production by Harold Faltermeyer and Academy Award winner Hans Zimmer. “Hold My Hand” marks Lady Gaga’s great comeback as an author and producer of soundtracks following the success of “A Star is Born” in 2018 for which the pop star won an Academy Award, two Grammy Awards, a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe and a Critics’ Choice Award. On Monday, April 25, the superstar shared a part of the lyrics of the song on his social networks: “Hold my hand everything will be ok I heard from the heavens that clouds have been gray…”. Top Gun: Maverick – which will be presented as an out of competition event at the Cannes Film Festival (May 17-28) – stars Lieutenant Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise), one of the best aviators in the Navy, who after more than thirty years of service is still in the only place it would like to be. He avoids the promotion that would no longer allow him to fly and pushes the limits once again, courageously testing new planes. Called to train a special team of students from the Top Gun Academy for a secret mission, Maverick will meet Lt. Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller), nickname “Rooster”, son of his old flight mate Nick Bradshaw “Goose”. Grappling with an uncertain future and the ghosts of his past, Maverick will have to face his deepest fears to complete a very difficult mission, which will require great sacrifice on the part of all who choose to participate.
