Football great Pelé back in hospital for tumor treatment

The doctors call Pelé’s clinical condition “good and stable”. He will likely be discharged from the hospital in the coming days.

At Edson Arantes do Nascimento, as Pelé is called in full, a tumor was removed from his large intestine at the beginning of September. The Brazilian was then in intensive care for days. He was allowed to leave the hospital at the end of September, but has since returned a few times for chemotherapy. Pelé, who is seen as one of the best football players ever, recently informed his nearly 8.5 million followers via Instagram that he was returning to the hospital for regular treatment.
