ROME, MARCH 18 – Groundwater represents 99% of fresh water resources present in the liquid state and covers half the volume of domestic water withdrawals made by the global population and about 25% of all those destined for agriculture. They will be the theme to which World Water Day is dedicated on 22 March. “Despite its enormous importance, this natural resource is often neglected and consequently underestimated, poorly managed and even over-exploited”, notes the United Nations World Report on the development of water resources 2022 with the focus on the theme “Groundwater: making visible the invisible resource ”, whose official translation in Italian will be presented at the event“ 30th World Water Day.
