Max Eberl ends his era at Borussia Mönchengladbach with immediate effect. For 13 years, the 48-year-old had rebuilt the foals as head of sport. Now it’s over – Eberl can no longer, is exhausted, physically and mentally at the end.
At an emotional press conference, he explained his motives. He no longer enjoys the football he always loved so much. Health comes first for him now. A realization that may have come a little too late – but was probably realized in time to prevent further damage to Max Eberl as a person.
Only Eberl can look inside himself and know how much he was physically and mentally exhausted. Seen from the outside, you have to accept his decision. And you are welcome to show her a good deal of respect.
