Modern Teslas have something called a HEPA filter. That’s not the latest hit from bleached artist Scooter (HEPA! HEPA!). HEPA stands for High Efficiency Particulate Air and simply put it is a filter that filters even the smallest particles from the air. But when the proverbial feces really hit the fan, there’s always the Bioweapon Defense Mode. This mode pressurizes the Tesla cabin so that no air from outside enters.
Below, Tesla does a small demonstration with smoke grenades to show how well the HEPA filters work. The cabin of a normal car fills with pink smoke while the Tesla stays clean. The only problem with the Bioweapon Defense Mode is that you have to activate it manually. If you’re thinking, ‘Hey, does it smell like mustard gas in here?’, you might be too late. By the way, there are now more car brands that implement a HEPA filter to filter the air extra well.
