One “upsi” had to let go Riot Games through the Twitter account of VALORANT Germany, after a photo uploaded of Killjoy appreciating an NFT upset the community, which believed that Riot was supporting the non-fungible token industry.

To be specific, in the photo you could see the character from VALORANT in an art gallery appreciating an NFT created by German artist Martin Houra. Because of this, Twitter users began to point out that Riot’s post suggested that Killjoy was into the NFT world and they found it as a way to promote these digital tokens.

For this reason, through the VALORANT account, Riot Games had to clarify that it was all a mistake. “Since Killjoy loves programming, we wanted to introduce them to computer generated art from around the world. However, we did not know that the chosen piece was an NFT. Under no circumstances did we want to include NFTs as part of Killjoy’s hobbies and jobs.” says the VALORANT Germany post.
Now, the post with the image of Killjoy appreciating the NFT has been deleted from the Twitter account.
