ROME, JAN 28 – New black smoke on the fifth ballot for the election of the President of the Republic. The President of the Senate Maria Elisabetta Casellati, nominated by the center-right which has 452 electors, stops at 382 preferences. Mattarella collects 46 preferences, while 8 votes go to Berlusconi and 7 to Tajani. Di Matteo gets 38 votes. The center left chooses to abstain. (HANDLE).
