The 32-year-old Wass, who can play in midfield as well as in defense, signed a contract with Atlético until mid-2023. Before moving to Valencia, Wass played for Danish club Brøndby IF, French team Evian, Portuguese club Benfica and Spain’s Celta de Vigo. Since 2011, he has also made 41 appearances for the Danish national team.
