In the program famous Dutch men are transformed into drag queens. In several rounds, the drag queens must try to convince both the panel led by Carlo Boszhard and the expert jury of their prowess. After each round, the professional jury then decides which queen should clear the field until there is one winner left. Last year it was Barry Atsma.
Together with his husband Herald, the creator of the program, Carlo has found enough men willing to compete with each other so that they can make a completely new series, after the first episode was so well received last year.
“At the moment we are working on the new men. It looks very good. I can’t say anything, but as we speak the metamorphoses are checked. Whether they look real, they must of course not be recognizable.”
Carlo lifts a corner of the veil by revealing that the series consists of five episodes. “After that we will most likely go to Germany. Or well, Germany will come into our studio and we can produce that.” Something changes in the series: in the first episode seven men took part, now Carlo and Herald stick to five men per episode.
In any case, the line-up promises a lot of good. “We really didn’t expect it, but also because of Peter R. de Vries, because he was so brave to do it, we have so many good names. It’s really amazing.”
The presenter tells RTL Boulevard that thanks to the fantastic performance of Peter R., several well-known men have knocked on his door to ask if they can participate in the program. “It will be a spectacular season.”
