Senior midfielder for the Indonesian national team, Evan Dimas, gave advice to his compatriots Marselino Ferdinand and Ronaldo Kwateh to immediately play abroad. According to him, both players have great potential. He also reminded them not to be like him.
The Bhayangkara player saw that both Marselino and Ronaldo had the potential to become star players and mainstays for the Indonesian national team. Therefore, in order to continue to raise the level of the game, Evan suggested that both players could have careers abroad.
Evan himself has actually played abroad, namely with Selangor FA in 2018. However, the 26 -year -old player’s career journey abroad only lasted one season.
“Indeed, entering the Indonesian national team at a young age is not easy, we also need to adapt. But I see that Marselino and Ronaldo are very potential players. I said, it is easy to achieve it, but to maintain it is not easy.”
“The important thing is that you have to be mentally alert, and don’t be like me when you were young. Regret comes later, if you have the opportunity to play abroad, play abroad,” Evan explained as quoted by Goal.
“If I might have been late, I would have played abroad but not for long. I told them not to be ashamed of me, there are no seniors on the field.”
“Off the field we have to respect seniors, but on the field you are the senior national team, because you are called up to the senior national team, there are no senior-juniors,” added Evan.
