Controversial Hague pollers remain, despite resistance and political pressure: ‘It has really become safer’

More and more Dutch municipalities are trying to ban cars from their inner cities. In The Hague they took a very drastic approach a year and a half ago, by closing an entire neighborhood in the center to traffic from the highway. Despite long-standing resistance from residents and politicians, the municipality has decided to leave the controversial bollards in place. “It’s really gotten safer.”
