Images of four dogs and four cats looking for a home will be projected this Friday (21) and Saturday (22) at Edifício Anchieta, on the corner of Paulista and Rua da Consolação, in São Paulo, to encourage responsible adoption of abandoned animals. .
The action is a partnership between Boehringer Ingelheim — through its antiparasitic NexGard Spectra and Frontline — with Ampara Animal, and called #AdoçãoDesignada was created by the agency AlmapBBDO.
The projections start at sunset and last until 11:59 pm on both days, with videos showing the animals awaiting adoption at Ampara’s shelters.
The dogs are represented by the mixed breed Alcione, Bob, Lucila and Sasha. The cats are Biba, Matheus, Palomo and Posseidon.
“Actions like this are essential to make people aware of the importance of adoption. By adopting a dog or a cat, you are able to save a life”, says Juliana Camargo, president of Ampara.
For her, shelters should not be a place of passage, not a home for animals.
”Shelters are overcrowded, it is estimated that there are more than 30 million abandoned animals in the country and more than 170,000 animals living in shelters. These shelters need to be a place of recovery and rehabilitation, a transitional place and not a permanent home .”
