1. FC Union Berlin wants to give home-grown player Fabio Schneider more match practice. But not on my own team. Instead, Schneider is loaned out to Finland.
The Finnish first division club Kuopion have agreed on a loan commitment for the 19-year-old. Contact came about through the meeting of the iron with the Finnish representative in the qualifier for the Europa Conference League.
“We got a very positive impression of this club in our UECL playoff games against Kuopion. We see a good environment for Fabio in KuPS because he can gain a lot of experience and playing time there as a young player. There is also the possibility that the loan could be extended beyond the summer,” said Oliver Ruhnert, Managing Director of Union.
Schneider has a contract with Union until 2023, but has not yet played a competitive game for the professionals. The perspective of the Finns is primarily for further training of the youngster, especially if you think about the possibility of extending the loan.
