A procedure “absolutely inadequate and unacceptable”. This is how the regional secretariats of the Slc-Cgil, Fistel-Cisl and Uilcom-Uil unions and the RSU define the communication sent by Abramo Customer Care to its almost three thousand employees in Calabria regarding the payment of December salaries. The company, on the eve of the insured payment for tomorrow, January 18, announced that the payment will take place in two installments: 70% immediately and the remainder when it receives the settlement of invoices for the services performed and, therefore, without indicating no time reference. The thirteenths, on the other hand, were regularly paid in a lump sum.
A “late communication”, accuse the secretariats of Calabria of the confederal trade unions in the communication sector and the RSU. «Does the property of Abraham CC – say the trade unions – know that the people who work with salary live there and support their families? We are aware that a few days’ notice would not have made the situation less dramatic, but at least it would have given the workers time to organize themselves differently and try to make up for the lack of wages in other ways ”.
In less than 10 days, meanwhile, the hearing will take place in Rome, in the Court, to decide on the request of the Abraham CC of Extraordinary Administration: “We are not fond of the motto ‘the king is dead, long live the king’ – write Slc- CGIL, Fistel-Cisl and Uilcom-Uil and the RSU – but we hope to finally be able to dialogue with an administrator who has as its objective the maximum satisfaction of the privileged creditors, that is the workers, to safeguard the last 1,500 people left in Abraham, by ferrying them as serenely as possible towards a path of social clause “. The unions themselves announce that “as soon as the extraordinary Commissioner takes office, presumably around the first week of February, we will ask him for an immediate meeting in order to discuss the strategies to be implemented”.
