The Groningen visitors took the lead in the first quarter (13-16) and Landstede’s deficit widened during the game. Halfway through there was a 34-41 score on the board in the Landstede Sports Center.
After the break, the game was level and Donar went into the last quarter with a ten point difference (56-66). Landstede was unable to repair the damage suffered and so Landstede lost the first game. The return is scheduled for Tuesday, February 1, and in that match it will be determined who can call themselves semi-finalist.
Eurosped after five-setter down
The Eurosped volleyball players also lost the second game of the new calendar year. The team from Vroomshoop suffered a loss against FAST on Sunday afternoon – after an exciting five-setter. At home, the visitors took the win: 2-3. Set positions: 21-25, 26-28, 25-23, 27-25, 9-15. Eurosped therefore remains eleventh in the Eredivisie.
