Imane “Pokimane” Anys, better known online as Pokimane, is one of the most popular streamers in the world. Despite being an established personality on Twitch and having a solid fan base, there are still those who believe that he only achieved fame for his physical appearance. Given this, the content creator pointed out and criticized the sexist attitudes of some users of the streaming platform.
During a live stream, Pokimane briefly spoke about the belief that being attractive is a bad thing or deserving of criticism on Twitch. Specifically, he lashed out at people who use physical appearance to disparage or criticize female streamers.

“Why do people like to use how attractive someone is against them? People say that viewers only like you for how you look and that they want to have sex with you. That’s rude and disgusting to begin with.”
Afterwards, the content creator claims that even if people find a female streamer attractive, she doesn’t see what the problem is. “What’s wrong with finding someone handsome?” he said.

Imane “Pokimane” Anys continued the theme and, to exemplify her point, she gave the example of male actors who have many female fans. He assured that no one criticizes them or tells them that they are bad actors because their followers find them attractive.
“Why is that used as a means to discredit the work of female streamers? That’s what I do not understand. No one says you’re a bad actor because your audience thinks you’re cute,” Pokimane concluded.

It’s worth noting that these statements come shortly after the content creator was the victim of a hate raid by another streamer, forcing her to end a live stream early. Fortunately, Twitch has already announced new measures to prevent situations like that from happening again in the future.
