Inter only won a 0-0 draw in the 2021/22 Serie A match week 22 when they visited Atalanta headquarters, Monday (17/1) WIB. This result does not change the position of Inter in the standings where they are still perched at the top with a collection of 50 points from 21 matches, two points difference from their city rivals, Milan, in second place.
The game at Gewiss Stadium was not marked by many chances throughout the 90 minutes, but Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic worked hard enough in the second half to make a number of important saves.
Inter themselves have been below their best performance standards despite going down full team. Simone Inzaghi’s men had 63 percent of possession but only had three shots on target. Meanwhile, Atalanta, who had 37 percent of the ball, managed to release six shots towards the Inter goal.
Samir Handanovic (8/10): Made some super saves in the second half.
Alessandro Bastoni (7/10): Looks tired to the intensity of Atalanta’s attack on the Inter defense in the second half.
Milan Skriniar (7/10): Either the shadows of exhaustion or just off day it just doesn’t appear as intense as usual.
Danilo D’Ambrossio (7/10): Appear quite impressive by showing a number of defensive actions that prevent the home players from scoring.
Ivan Perisic (7/10): Less showing pressing intensely on Inter’s left flank.
Hakan Calhanoglu (6/10): Substandard performance, not creating as many chances from midfield as usual.
Marcelo Brozovic (7/10): Worked hard enough to cover the Inter defense amid Atalanta’s effective attack in the second half.
Nicolo Barella (7/10): It’s the same with Brozovic, struggling more for the ball and struggling to develop his game in Inter’s midfield.
Matteo Darmian (6/10): Not showing significant breakthrough on the right side of Inter.
Alexis Sanchez (6/10): Minimal contribution in suppressing the host defense, several times losing possession of the ball.
Edin Dzeko (6/10): Difficulty finding gaps in Atalanta’s defense and lack of support from the second line.
Arturo Vidal (6/10): Failed to be an alternative attack creator.
D. Dumfries (6/10): Looks a little more intense than Darmian, but also doesn’t make a significant contribution that changes the situation.
J. Correa (6/10): Not many opportunities and minimal support from the second line.
Lautaro Martinez (6/10): Having too few minutes to play to turn things around.
Stefan de Vrij (6/10): Replaced Bastoni who looked exhausted and gave new energy to the Inter defence.
