Citroen closes 2021 satisfied with the results obtained on the market. The French carmaker has in fact collected 796,868 registrations worldwide, for one growth of 7% compared to all of 2020. The positive note derives mainly from the fact that the increase in sales has concerned more or less all the main areas in which Citroen is active: the reference market of the brand remains that European, where deliveries touched 625,000 cars, but the improvement in data also affected the Asian, African, Middle Eastern and South American markets.
The Chinese market deserves a separate mention, given that in percentage it is the one where Citroen’s growth was most significant: + 101.7% compared to all of 2020, in practice, sales more than doubled for a total of 41,391 registrations. Analyzing the specific market by market, the French one remains the most successful for Citroen: in the mother country the transalpine brand recorded 228,479 sales. An increase compared to that of 2020, as happened in Italy where in 2021 Citroen closed with 79,342 registrations. In the main European markets, in Germany alone the company closed in negative: 52,377 deliveries in 2021, compared to over 58,000 in all of 2020. As for the individual models, the C3 remains by far the best-selling by Citroen, with a figure that in 2021 was close to 200,000 units registered. Promising debut for the C4, leader of the C-Hatch segment in France and Spain.
The volumes of the commercial vehicle range of the French brand: in 2021, LCV deliveries on the European market increased by 6.3% compared to the previous year. Final comment on the success that the little girl is enjoying Which, which debuted in Italy at the end of 2020 and in many other European countries over the course of last year: in 2021, which has just ended, the small electric car won over 9,000 customers, tripling and even more than the previous year’s figure ( where he made his debut in France in April).
