After several rumors about its possible sale, SEGA made it clear that it is not in any type of negotiation, as its goal is to expand and increase its presence in the industry in the coming years. For this, it has just opened a new development studio.
Through a statement, the company announced the creation and opening of SEGA Sapporo Studio, its new offices based in Japan. This project will strengthen development tasks and ensure higher quality in future games.

SEGA Sapporo Studio opens its doors under the command of a veteran
SEGA Sapporo Studio opened its doors in early December last year. It is the second development study that the company has in Japan. The Sapporo offices will focus on the stable development of various projects and ensuring their high quality.
Thus, this move will translate into more and better games by SEGA, which will hire local staff. The offices will be run by Takaya Segawa, a veteran who joined the company in 1992.
He had an important role in the development of various games, including Phantasy Star Online 2. At the beginning of last year he took the place of senior corporate officer at SEGA. He will now serve as the President and CEO of SEGA Sapporo Studio.
The studio already has an official website, but currently no details are given about its first projects. For now, the portal is used for those interested in a position to participate in the hiring process.
