When Johan S.’s brand new catering company JBRI Events started up in November, Tim signed up as a deliverer of brochures. He put many free hours into his very first job.
Great was the hangover when Johan S. suddenly disappeared without a trace. Tim had already received his first salary, but still had 150 euros in credit.
Just like dozens of customers of JBRI Events were left with the baked pears. Not only business partners of Johan S., but also customers who wanted to order food from him. Many customers did not even deliver food. And those who did get something to eat often quickly found out that this was not acceptable.
After RTV Oost reported on Thursday afternoon that Johan S. had once again made himself known and that Tim was his youngest victim, a lady came forward who wanted to support the young folder deliverer.
The woman was on Tim’s doorstep on Saturday afternoon. Not only with 100 euros, but also with a beautiful message.
“Hello Tim, I can’t undo what was done to you. I can only make up for it a little. Don’t lose faith in people. Most of them are good.” said the generous donor, who wishes to remain anonymous.
Carla, Tim’s mother, is stunned by the action. “Very special, this. A complete stranger who does this for my son. She doesn’t know him, she will never see him again, but above all she wanted to restore his trust in fellow human beings.”
Tim was able to laugh again on Saturday afternoon. And he already has a destination for the money: his savings account. As an avid gamer, he wants to save for computer parts to build a computer himself. In the meantime, he is looking for a new fun side job.

Incidentally, Tim’s mother does not leave it at that. She’s going to file a report. Initially, according to the police, this was not possible. “I was told that it was a civil matter and that therefore I could not file a report. But after the stories in the media, I was approached by the police that they still want to record my report.”
A police spokeswoman confirms that a search has indeed been launched for Johan S. “He is currently off our radar, but of course we would like to speak to him. If people know where he is, we will ask them to let us know via 112.”
Trail of misery
After Westerhuis Verhuur in Almelo posted a message on Facebook that S. had not returned his rented items, it rained reactions. Johan S. has left a trail of financial misery throughout the country for years, on which he has been convicted several times.
As early as 2004, the AvroTros program spent Scammed?! attention to the master con artist. The man is known for, among other things, that he manages to win over women, after which he undresses them financially.
