Sam had been with friends last Wednesday when he left for home at around 00.40 in Heemstede on Leidsevaartweg. He never got there. His family quickly raised the alarm and the police immediately became very concerned.

The police investigation revealed that he was probably still seen around 1 a.m. on the bicycle route.
Hundreds of people joined the police today and combed the area. Since the end of the afternoon, the police investigation has concentrated on one specific spot in the canal. At the end of the afternoon it was announced that a body had been found.
The police are not yet able to say anything about the further circumstances.
