Anyone waiting to see Valentino Rossi back on track will still have to wait. The nine-time world champion, in fact, was forced to forfeit the 12 Hours of the Gulf, scheduled for Saturday 8 January at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi. The Pesaro-born, in fact, came into contact with a person who tested positive for Covid-19 and will have to spend a period in fiduciary quarantine as established by the current regulations for containing the pandemic.

The race weekend, which took place last year at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir, will start on Thursday 6 January with the tests and will end with the race on Saturday 8 January. At the wheel of the Kessel team’s Ferrari 488 GT3, Valentino Rossi was supposed to work alongside his brother Luca Marini and his friend Alessio “Uccio” Salucci.
