Air Italy, employees dismissed while the compensation of the liquidators grows
While in these days the 1322 letters of dismissal for employees of Air Italy and, with them, the appeals to save the workers left at home, the liquidators have seen increase their wages.
The dismissal emails were sent only 48 hours after the end of the layoffs expired on 31 December, a procedure managed by liquidators Enrico Laghi and Franco Maurizio Lagro which, according to the financial statements as at 31 December 2020, have seen since the company was put into liquidation increase their wages, doing further increase costs for the former company, which spent 805 thousand euros in 2020 (compared to 520 thousand spent in 2019).
Appointed in February 2021, Laghi e Lagro have together they earn 669 thousand euros gross and, afterwards, the 412 thousand euros recognized for the whole of 2019 to cda, in 2020 another 44 thousand were added. To the board of statutory auditors, composed of Luigi Guerra, Stefano Giacosa and Andrea Magnoni, 108 thousand euros went in 2019 and another 91 thousand in 2020. Finally the auditor Deloitte, for which Air Italy spent 174 thousand euros in 2019 which rose to 297 thousand in 2020.
Air Italy, the layoffs have started
The layoffs of over 1300 Air Italy workers have started Monday 3 January, with letters signed by the liquidators, Enrico Laghi and Franco Maurizio Lagro, which have as their object the communication pursuant to articles 4 and 24 of law 223 of 1991.
“On 23 September 2021 our company started the union procedure for collective dismissal for cessation of activity pursuant to articles 4 and 24 of the law of 23 July 1991, number 223 and subsequent amendments, concerning all employees of the company, which ended “, we read in the text of the letter that theRuetir has viewed.
“Since the redundancy object of the collective redundancy procedure it concerns all employees of the company, we inform you of your dismissal, pursuant to and for the purposes of the law in question, with immediate effect and payment of the indemnity in lieu of the notice “.
