The German champion, still in therapy after the snow accident in December 2013, turns 53 today: the messages from the world that gave him sporting glory. Todt: “You remain an inspiration”
Ferrari, Formula 1, friend Jean Todt, the fans all don’t forget Michael Schumacher on his 53rd birthday. The 7-time German world champion, always struggling with the difficult recovery after a serious skiing accident in December 2013, is always in the thoughts of fans. And even if the reserve is absolute about his health conditions, the name Schumacher is always evoked when it comes to records. Like this year, when Lewis Hamilton, in Abu Dhabi, came within a few corners of the eighth title with which the former Ferrari driver would have beaten the World Championship.
Todt’s message
—
Today the former Ferrari team principal Jean Todt, with whom Michael won his 5 titles at the Cavallino, dedicated a message via social media to Schumi, to whom he remained tied by a great personal friendship: “Happy birthday Michael. On this special day we celebrate a great F1 legend and a dear friend. Michael Schumacher, continue to be an inspiration to us all. All my love for you on this birthday ”.
A giant of our sport
—
Ferrari posted Schumacher’s figures under the banner of the Prancing Horse, the 5 titles in 180 GPs with 72 wins, 53 fastest laps, 58 poles, 116 podiums and 1066 points: “A giant of our sport, here are the incredible Michael’s statistics with Ferrari ”. F1 instead posted four photos of Michael and a short message: “Legend is an understatement. Michael Schumacher turns 53 ”. “Legend” also for Mercedes, which has always dedicated via social networks a beautiful image of the champion at the time of the partnership with the Stuttgart company.
Mystery
—
Eight years later, the mystery of Schumacher’s real conditions remains: he seems to be alert and can follow what is happening around him with his eyes, but what filters through comes with a dropper. In the middle, here is a foundation born in his name for charitable purposes, a documentary on Netflix about his life and a lot of affection, but also the vile looting with the theft of his medical records, photos stolen by drones flying over the villa, indiscretions always denied and the movements, very secret and armored, in Paris, in September 2019, to the European hospital Georges Pompidou, for treatment with stem cells.
