Smith convincingly to final after win against Wade

Michael Smith had reached the semi-finals thanks to strong matches against Jonny Clayton and Gerwyn Price. He also shot straight from the starting blocks against James Wade. He convincingly took the first two sets and then seemed to be on his way to the third set in a row. However, thanks to a 121 finish, it was ‘The Machine’ who took the set.

In the fourth set, Wade then seemed to tie the score again after he managed to grab the first two legs. However, it was ‘Bully Boy’ who managed to take the set and not much later he also managed to make it 4-1.

With that, the game seemed to be over. Especially after Smith won the sixth set 3-0. Wade showed himself again and took his second set, thanks in part to a very nice 160 finish. ‘The Machine’ even managed to make it 5-3, but in the end it was Smith who became the first finalist thanks to a 6-3 victory.
