The German duel on the sideline is canceled: Jürgen Klopp will miss the top match between Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea and his Liverpool FC (Sunday, 5:30 p.m.).
It was only on Friday that Kloppo announced that there were three more positive corona cases in his squad before the trip to Chelsea. In addition, employees of his staff are also affected.
On Saturday, the Reds announced that the head coach has now also been personally caught. “The Reds coach, who reported mild symptoms before the game, is now isolated. Assistant coach Pepijn Lijnders will therefore lead the team at Stamford Bridge,” the LFC said in a statement.
After all, there was also reasonably good news: “The tests of the entire first team have not revealed any further positive cases within the squad, apart from the three confirmed by Klopp on Friday.” It was not known which players are affected.
According to The Athletic the game should take place as planned. Liverpool do not consider requesting a transfer to the Premier League.
